"Feel Like Goin On" - September 30, 2005 - October 31, 2005 • Pittsburgh, PA
an exhibition is the first in a series of projects by a collective of photojournalists that investigates and witnesses the depth and breadth of African American life in Pittsburgh. Organized by Erv Dyer and John Monroe Butler and curated by Janera Solomon, “Feel Like Goin On” includes images by a collective of photographers including: Sandra Gould Ford, Carol Moye, Germaine Watkins, Kim Roberts, Frank Hightower and K. Neely. Inspired by the legacy of Charles “Teenie” Harris, the exhibition seeks to capture and present the complexities of African American life in Pittsburgh.

panPittsburgh2005 - a celebration of steelpan music featuring performances by Phil Solomon, Steel Impressions Steelband, University of Mary Steeldrum Band and many more.
The Steelpan (popularly known as the "steeldrum" in the US) is the world's newest musical instrument. In partnership with Solomon Steelpan Company and Three Rivers Arts Festival, j.a. solomon & partners produced panPittsburgh2005 to celebrate steelpan music in Pittsburgh, home to the largest number of school based steelbands in the country including Ambridge High School Steelband, Washington High School Steelband and Northside Urban Pathways Charter School "Sounds of Steel" steelpan ensemble. |

"Vital Signs" April 15 - May 15, 2005 • Digging Pitt Gallery
Vital Signs assembles a selection of works and artists whose work captures some possible elements, both individual – family, love, fun, community, home – and those of a city – housing, employment, safety and environment. The work reveals the interplay between these elements and the complexity of the interactions. Through photography, painting and mix media installation, the exhibition explores these questions and the relationship between vitality and perspective, space and time.
