What is the nature of vitality? How is it measured? Today, we experience a
world, where one's capacity for living is continuously evaluated. For some,
strength or activity indicate vitality, while for others its beauty, growth
and/or change. The criteria changes continuously, impacting how we define
and gauge our vitality as individuals or communities.
Vital Signs assembles a selection of works and artists whose work captures
some possible elements, both individual - family, love, fun, community, home - and those of a city - housing, employment, safety and environment. The work reveals the interplay between these elements and the complexity of the interactions. Through photography, painting and mix media installation, the exhibition explores these questions and the relationship between vitality and perspective, space and time.
